“FROM SKILLS TO EARNINGS” – HANDWASH-MAKING WORKSHOP The Department of Chemistry, Maulana Azad College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Chh. Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) organised a workshop on “From Skills to Earnings” – Handwash Making on 5 October 2026, under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Maqdoom Farooqui. The workshop was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Principal Sir. In his presidential address, he emphasised the importance of “earning while learning” and encouraged students to acquire practical skills to become self-reliant, independent and capable of creating their own earning opportunities. He appreciated the Department of Chemistry for undertaking such a meaningful and innovative activity and highlighted the importance of converting knowledge and skills into opportunities for livelihood and entrepreneurship. A total of 38 students registered for the workshop and successfully learned the preparation of different varieties of handwash, including Aloe Vera & Neem, Orange, Lavender and Lemon. The hands-on training provided students with a valuable practical skill and introduced them to the possibility of developing it as an income-generating activity. The workshop was convened by Prof. Syed Ummul Khair Asema and coordinated by Dr. Shazia Mirza. Prof. J. D. Shaikh, IQAC Coordinator, and Prof. Arif Pathan, Vice Principal and HOD, Department of Chemistry, were also present and encouraged the students. All UG and PG Chemistry faculty members attended the programme. As a follow-up activity, the handwash prepared by the students will be put on sale on 6 October 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Department of Chemistry. Students and staff are invited to visit the department and support the initiative by purchasing the herbal and safe handwash products prepared by the students. The workshop successfully promoted skill development, entrepreneurship, self-reliance and the concept of earning while learning.

Report: Essay Writing Competition on Voter Awareness Under the able guidance of Capt. Dr. Maqdoom Farooqui, the Department of Political Science, Maulana Azad College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, organised an Essay Writing Competition on Voter Awareness on 5 October 2026 under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan of the Government of Maharashtra. A total of 30 students participated in the competition and expressed their views on the importance of voting, electoral awareness, and responsible citizenship. ONE-DAY HANDS-ON TRAINING PROGRAMME Vermicomposting for a Sustainable Future: From Waste to Wealth, Soil Health & Entrepreneurship ➖➖➖➖➖ Date: 06 October 2026 Mode: Online/Offline Participants: 80+ UG, PG Students & Research Scholars A One-Day Hands-on Training Programme on “Vermicomposting for a Sustainable Future: From Waste to Wealth, Soil Health & Entrepreneurship” was successfully organized on 06 October 2026 in Online/Offline mode by the Dept of Microbiology and Dept of Zoology, in association with the Microbiologists Society of India (MBSI). More than 80 Undergraduate, Postgraduate students and Research Scholars enthusiastically participated in the programme. The programme was graced by Principal Capt. Dr. Maqdoom Farooqui, and Prof. Vidya Pradhan, (Chief Guest) I/c Principal, Dr. R.Z.C.W., Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Prof. Raosaheb K. Barote, Resource Person conducted the hands-on training session. He provided detailed practical and comprehensive guidance on the preparation, management, and applications of vermicompost. Principal Capt. Dr. Maqdoom Farooqui delivered the Presidential Address, highlighting the need and significance of vermicompost in the present-day scenario. He emphasized the importance of sustainable waste management, environmental protection, improvement of soil health, and the potential of vermicomposting as an eco-friendly and economically viable practice. Distinguished faculty members from various colleges, including Dr. Deshmukh D. R., Dr. Naphde S. T., Dr. Sanghai P. K., Dr. Ravi Pradhan, Dr. Shivaji Ubharhande, and Prof. Pardeshi A. B., also graced the programme with their valuable presence. The programme witnessed participation from students and Research Scholars from Gandhi College, Shahjahanpur, Lucknow; Nizamabad, Telangana; Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar; and various colleges from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District. The major highlight of the programme was the hands-on training session conducted by Prof. Raosaheb K. Barote, who explained the preparation, management, and applications of vermicompost in a simple, practical, and engaging manner. The session emphasized organic waste management, soil health, sustainable agriculture, environmental sustainability, and entrepreneurship opportunities through vermicomposting. The programme was successfully accomplished by Dr. J. D. Shaikh, IQAC Coordinator; Ms. Maheejabin Sayyad, (Convener); and Dr. Shaikh Tarannum Tanveer, (Organising Secretary), supported by Dr. Wajed Khan, Dr. Syeda Heena, Dr. Muzaffar Shaikh, Miss Rumaisa, Miss. Zoha the organizing team, participants and non Teaching staff. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by certificate distribution to the participants. Overall, the training programme was highly informative, interactive, and successful, providing participants with valuable practical knowledge about vermicomposting and highlighting its potential for sustainable development, organic waste management, soil health, and entrepreneurship. World Space Week 2026 – Prize Distribution Ceremony ? Under the visionary leadership of our Principal, Capt. Dr. Maqdoom Farooqui Sir, the Department of Physics & Electronics successfully concluded its World Space Week 2026 celebrations with a Prize Distribution Ceremony on 10 October 2026. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Principal, Capt. Dr. Maqdoom Farooqui Sir; Vice Principal, Prof. Arif Pathan Sir and IQAC Coordinator, Prof. J. D. Shaikh Sir. The Principal congratulated the participating students and appreciated the efforts of all faculty members. ? ? WORLD HEART DAY AWARENESS PROGRAMME Date: 29th September, 2026 Time: 11:00 AM Department: Department of Zoology Theme: “Healthy Food for a Healthy Heart” The Department of Zoology, Maulana Azad College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, organized a World Heart Day Awareness Programme to create awareness about heart health and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The programme was organized under the guidance of Principal Dr. Maqdoom Farooqui and with the support of Head of the Department, Prof. J.D. Shaikh. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Shaikh Tarannum, with the efforts of Dr. Syed Ather Quadri and Dr. Syed Hina. At the outset of the event, six students warmly welcomed the Principal and introduced the programme, sharing the highlights of the event with great enthusiasm. The programme was then formally inaugurated by Principal Dr. Maqdoom Farooqui with his auspicious hands. The central theme of the programme was “Healthy Food for a Healthy Heart.” As part of the programme, posters and charts depicting various healthy food items were displayed to explain the significance of balanced nutrition and healthy eating habits. The exhibits also provided information on heart-related diseases, their risk factors, preventive measures, and the importance of regular physical activity. Students actively participated by preparing a Fruit Chart and explaining the nutritional benefits of various fruits for heart health. As a healthy initiative, fresh fruits were also distributed and served to all attendees. The programme aimed to encourage students to adopt healthy dietary habits and make positive lifestyle choices, with special emphasis on reducing the consumption of unhealthy foods and choosing nutritious alternatives that support cardiac health. The awareness programme was highly informative and helped participants understand the role of proper nutrition, regular exercise, and healthy habits in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The programme concluded with a message encouraging everyone to take responsibility for maintaining a healthy heart and a healthy lifestyle.
