About Department

 A panoramic view of the department:

  • The department was established in 1986 with Ms.Vidya Salunke as the first appointee. Thereafter  Dr.Rita Supekar was appointed in 1987 and remained in service till her  early passing away in 2000. Dr.Aditi Bhattacharya was appointed in 1986.
  • The subject was introduced taking into consideration its job oriented attributes thus catering  to the growing needs of various industries.
  • Initially the subject got a diverse community of learners on account of the unavailability of the course in other states.
  • Students from different states of India such as West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and even Jammu and Kashmir to study the subject in our college.
  • The reach out was complete when students started arriving from Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Djibouti ,Sudan, Kenya and the UAE.
  • Our distinguished alumni have highlighted the contributions of the department and have made us proud through their career achievements

  • Promoting organic farming for sustainable development.
  • Online interactive sessions for career guidance.
  • Extension activities  in collaboration to create awareness for health, hygiene and healthy diet .
  • Collaborative activities to create awareness and find viable solutions on heavy metals , dyes, e-waste and other environmental pollutants.
