Founded in 1963 by the visionary Dr. Rafiq Zakaria, Maulana Azad College is committed to providing quality education to all, with special focus on minority communities. Dr. Rafiq Zakaria was a distinguished scholar, educationist, and freedom fighter who dedicated his life to the cause of education and social upliftment. His vision and tireless efforts led to the establishment of Maulana Azad College in 1963, creating an institution that has become a beacon of quality education for all.

With his profound wisdom and farsightedness, Dr. Zakaria ensured that the college would serve as a symbol of educational excellence and an instrument of social change. His commitment to providing education, especially to minority communities, has transformed thousands of lives and continues to inspire generations.

Excellence is not an exception but a prevailing attitude. Our mission through education is to spread, maintain and improve education among all sections of the society, with special privilege for Minority Community to achieve better personnel to provide integrated, efficient and effective services to the society.

It was because of the wisdom, farsightedness and vision of our beloved founder late Dr. Rafiq Zakaria that Maulana Azad College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Aurangabad, was established in 1963, which has become the symbol of quality education and instrument of social change.

Industrial Visit to Sahyadri Farms, Mohadi Nashik  The Department of Commerce & Management Science organized an Industrial Visit on 2nd February 2026 to Sahyadri Farms, Nashik , India’s largest integrated fruits and vegetables value chain. The industrial visit to Sahyadri Farms was a truly enriching and eye-opening experience for the students. Witnessing how a farmer-driven initiative evolved into a ₹2000 crore organization motivated students to think beyond conventional business models. The exposure to global export standards helped students understand the practical application of management concepts. Interacting with professionals and learning about farmers as shareholders gave students a new perspective on inclusive growth and sustainable development. Overall, the visit enhanced students’ confidence, curiosity, and appreciation for innovation in agribusiness.

The national-level conference on "Recent Trends in Green Organic Synthesis" at Venkatesh Mahajan Senior College in Dharashiv (Osmanabad) featured Dr. Mazahar Farooqui as the keynote speaker and chief inaugurator, where he delivered an insightful address on sustainable and environmentally friendly approaches to organic chemical synthesis. Other prominent dignitaries present included Principal Dr. Prashant Chaudhari, Dr. Bapu Shingte (from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, BAMU), Dr. Gajanan Rashinkar (from Shivaji University, Kolhapur), Dr. Arif Pathan, Dr. Hansraj Joshi, and Dr. Makrand Chaudhari, contributing to the event's focus on advancements in green chemistry.

It is a premier institution in India, set up by the Government of India in collaboration with the Tata Group. During the visit, students and staff experienced real-time exposure to the latest technology, advanced machinery, and robotics worth millions of rupees and advanced cutting edge technology in the world. Mr. Milind Joshi, A.M. of the Tata Group, and Mr. C. Roy, Head of TIP-TIIS, along with their team of trainers, interacted with the students, demonstrating the real-time operation of robotics and showcasing technological advancements.  The visit was monitored by the HOD along with the organizing team.  A total of 38 students and 8 staff members participated in the visit.   We are proud to be the first from the Marathwada region to honor this visit.
