Objectives of the Department:

  • Impart quality education in the field of plant sciences to make the students acquire an in-depth knowledge relevant to local, regional and national needs.
  • To sensitize students towards the need for conserving natural resources through Botany subject and to increase the awareness of young learners about the abuse of plants subjected by human greed.
  • To expertise in exploration, identification, evaluation of plants and adequately equip the students to apply themselves meaningfully in any activity requiring botanical expertise.

Salient Features of the Department:

  • Department has spacious laboratory enriched with various sophisticated equipments- Digital Microscope with image capturing facility.
  • Equipped with ICT based teaching learning facility (LED Projector, Google classroom, Videos and PPTs).
  • Museum with different plant specimens and models.
  • Department have Botanical garden with various medicinal plants.
  • Reach central and departmental library with 74 e-journals.
  • Two CPE course completed in the department.
  • Various curricular and co-curricular activities are conducted for students.
  • We encourage our students for research and various competition.
  • All faculty members are research guide.

Future Plan:

  • To practice and implement positively NEP at UG level
  • To organize National and International Workshop, Conference and Seminar
  • To introduce new certificate courses in skill enhancement
  • To develop more advanced and sophisticated laboratories
  • To organize job fair each year for the students in seed and food industries
