Under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Mazahar Ahmed Farooqui, the Department of BCA–BCS organized a District-Level Hackathon Competition 2.0 on 21 January 2026. The event witnessed the active participation of 60 students representing two universities, namely Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Dr. B.A.M.U.) and MGM University. Students from reputed engineering colleges such as Deogiri College of Engineering, MIT, P.E.S. College of Engineering, ICEEM, and CSMSS, along with degree colleges including Maulana Azad College, MIT College, Vivekanand College, Dr. Rafiq Zakaria Women’s College, Vinayakrao Patil College, and Chhatrapati College, participated enthusiastically in the competition. The programme was graced by eminent dignitaries, with Mr. Shamshoddin Syed, Founder of Tech Genius World, as the Chief Guest. The occasion was further honoured by the presence of Dr. Abdul Aziz, Professor and Head, Sir Sayyed College, and Dr. Syed Jumna, Founder of BSJ Skill Hub, who motivated and inspired the participants. The event was coordinated by Dr. Syed Abeduddin, Head of the Department (BCA–BCS), in collaboration with Mr. Imran Khatib, Founder, Nexsecura Service, and successfully promoted innovation, technical skills, and inter-collegiate collaboration among students. It was a proud moment for the BCA–BCS Department as our students B.C.S-II Miss Zikar Rafiq Khan secured First Position and won cash Prize of Rs. 2500 in the competition among all participating institutions. This remarkable achievement reflects the students’ dedication, technical competence, and the department’s continuous efforts toward academic excellence and skill-based learning.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the MIDC Skill Development Center in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, operated by the Government of Maharashtra, and Maulana Azad College to collaboratively train and develop skilled students aligned with the workforce needs of industries in the MIDC regions of Marathwada, aiming for 100% placement of the trained students. The MoU was signed by Dr. Mazahar Farooqui (Principal, Maulana Azad College) and Shri Waghmare (representing the Skill Center), in the presence of Shri Kabra (from the Skill Center), Dr. Arif Pathan (Vice Principal, Maulana Azad College), Dr. Dehgan (Principal, YBCP), and other professors.

The successful cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest drying of oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus spp.) as part of an academic project in P.G. Biotechnology. The photographic evidence demonstrates effective substrate colonization, healthy sporophore development, and uniform fruiting, followed by systematic harvesting and controlled drying to enhance shelf life while retaining structural integrity and nutritional quality. Oyster mushrooms are widely recognized for their biotechnological importance due to their rapid growth, lignocellulosic waste utilization, and high protein content. This work was carried out by Miss Tanzeela and Miss Bushra under the scholarly guidance of Mrs. Farooqui Aamena, and it emphasizes the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skill development in applied mycology, sustainable biotechnology, and post-harvest processing methodologies. We express our sincere gratitude to the respected Principal for providing constant encouragement and a supportive academic environment that made this project possible. Dream big in life- G. Shrikanth Degree Distribution Programme was held in Maulana Azad College on 07th January 2026. The programe started with a procession bearing university flag in the hands of Dr. Arif Pathan Vice Princiapal of the college. the programe begins with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Song followed by the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran, Dr. Aditi Bhattacharya, IQAC, coordinator presented college activity report to the gathering in an in-depth manner. Mr. G. Shrikant, Municipal Commissioner & Administrator, was the Chief Guest of the Programme. Mrs. Pratibha Ingle & Mr. Ankush Pandhare were the guests of honour. Mr. Farhat Jamal, President, Maulana Azad Education Society & Chairman, Maulana Azad Educational Trust graced the occasion as the president of the programme. Principal, Dr. Mazahar Ahmad Farooqui and Mr. Farhat Jamal welcomed the guests . In his address Mr. G. Shrikant focused on vision of the late Dr. Rafiq Zakaria and Late Padma Shri Fatma Zakaria and their efforts in making this wonderful campus. He stressed upon sincere efforts, dedication, updating skills, dreaming big in life, hard work and also asked the graduating students not to stuck in social media. He also cited Mr. Fareed Zakaria’s as an example to who they can follow. Mrs. Pratibha Ingle, Commissioner, Minority Development Department asked the students to be competitive, focused in life, and health conscious. Mr. Ankush Pandhare, Deputy Commissioner, Education Dept. Municipal Corporation CSN, guided the gathering on casting vote in the upcoming election of Municipal Corporation CSN. In his presidential address Mr. Farhat Jamal congratulated Dr. Mazahar Ahmad Farooqui for his efforts infavour of the campus and the process of students. He urged the students to enhance to critical thinking while incorporating the social values and nurturing character. He also guided over the changes in the field of education and asked the students to stay connected as mentors, collaborator and speakers and help the society with their knowledge. He also promised that gates of knowledge will always remain open for them. In this programme Mr. Farhat Jamal felicitated the Principals from the sister institutions while offering plant saplings. The proceeding of the programme was conducted by Dr. Aparna Saraf, Dr. Sadikali Shaikh and Dr. Ashfaque Khan proposed the vote of thanks. In this programme degrees were distributed at the hands of dignitaries. The programme was attended by students, parents, teaching, non-teaching staff and persons from the media.
